Our sister company Aviko Potato
sources the potatoes, handles quality assurance and runs the
logistics operations on Aviko's behalf. The company is in regular
contact with over 2,000 leading growers from across Europe.
Responsible for supplying us with our most valuable raw material,
these top-level growers are all subject to a strict selection
process and continual monitoring - because the better the potatoes
are, the better our finished products will be.
That's why Aviko Potato actively invests
in supporting the growers: the company has set up special
programmes to register, assess and certify the crop-growing. This
pro-active approach give us maximum control over the quality and
food safety aspects.
Minimising risks
Like any natural product, the quality and availability of the
potato crop can be threatened by adverse weather conditions.
Working with growers from across a large part of Europe enables us
to keep these risks to a minimum. In order to prevent damage to the
potatoes during transportation for further processing, we ensure
that the maximum distance from any grower to a processing facility
is 125 miles.
