Only an excellent potato is
good enough for Aviko
An 'excellent' potato - that's what Aviko demands. Before we
approve a potato for processing, it has to meet a number of strict
criteria.
An excellent potato must meet the following
requirements:
- the right shape and length
- the right dry matter content
- no sugars which will turn brown
- no tendency to turn grey
- free of diseases and defects
Potato varieties
We use a range of different potato varieties in order to help us
maintain a consistently high standard of quality. Each variety has
its own individual characteristics. We work closely with Aviko Potato to ensure that
we use the right potato variety for the right product. When
selecting the potatoes, we consider the cutting size, colour,
structure and colour after frying, as well as our customers' wishes
and requirements and, of course, any 'local' preferences.
