Mohammed Essa, General Manager UK and Ireland, Aviko comments:
"We are looking forward to meeting as many school caterers as we
can during the big event. The Aviko team have over 50 years'
experience inspiring menus and can show school caterers how a
versatile potato range can bring freshness, variety and excitement
to menus. "In 2013 we're bringing a wider a range of products than
ever to the school catering market due to product innovation and a
reduction in the salt levels in our range". Between 2011 and 2012
Aviko removed 16 tonnes of salt from products including school
staples such as its Roast Potatoes, Mash and Herb Dice - a new
addition to Aviko's range; a versatile product that combines the
appeal of two complementary herbs - parsley and basil - to provide
a flavourful alternative to chips. New breakfast offering Hash
Brown Bites, Sweet Potato Fries and Garlic & Herb Wedges, also
meet or fall well under FSA guidelines on salt levels, making it
even easier for school caterers to produce healthier dishes that
children will love.
Mohammed adds, "Reducing the salt levels in our products is
another step towards our CSR ambitions and where we want to be as a
company with regards to best practice, especially as a passionate
supplier to the education sector catering for pupils".
Visitors to the stand will be able to try Aviko's Potato Quiche
and Hash Brown Bites alongside its groundbreaking Steam and Fresh
range; a potato range made from 100% pure potato which is then
steamed to lock in the freshness and nutritional goodness.
