Aviko Launches Bubble & Squeak Rounds

Posted on 08/05/2014

Bubble & Squeak Rounds are the latest addition to Aviko’s line of premium potato products, developed to help caterers profit from all-day dining, while providing consumers variety out-of-home.

This contemporary twist on a classic dish works equally well as a starter, a side to traditional pub fare such as roast pork belly or as a compelling component of a signature breakfast with a difference.

The new Rounds will certainly help caterers cash in on the breakfast boom (the out-of-home breakfast market grew by 8.4%* in 2012 to £1.14 billionwhile lunch and dinner declined) - and not just in the morning as the rising incidence of brunch and brinner (breakfast-dinner) highlights the breakdown of traditional meal times and the rise of all-day dining. It means Aviko's Bubble & Squeak Rounds can work hard for caterers 24/7 and their superior long holding time - in excess of one hour - makes them perfect for banqueting menus too.

Made from mashed potatoes Aviko's Bubble & Squeak Rounds combine 100% real cream, savoy cabbage, fried onions, parsley, chervil and black pepper for maximum flavour.

Aviko General Manager, Mohammed Essa, comments:  "Our Mash was the first frozen product ever to win endorsement by the Craft Guild of Chefs for its taste and flavor, while our Cream & Cheese Gratin was the second and allowed chefs to offer something a little bit special that helps justify a premium price. We believe this new addition to the range combines the best of both and builds upon the established favourites to give our Foodservice partners even more opportunities to improve sales and profits throughout the day."

Aviko Bubble & Squeak Rounds are available in cases of 6 x 1.5kg, yielding 20 pieces per kilogram. Each 75g savoury round comes individually frozen, providing caterers with perfect portion control and minimum wastage. They can be ready to serve in as little as 15-18 minutes (at 200oC in a combi-steamer) or 20-25 minutes at 220oC in the oven.
