Gustavo Galvoa, UK Food Support Manager at Belushi's, triumphed in the Best Breakfast Bap category for the 'Badass Breakfast Bap' which includes two rashers of smoked back bacon, a fried egg, hash browns, pork sausages and homemade BBQ Jagermeister baked beans in a toasted brioche bun.
Meanwhile, Amy Devenish, owner of The Gloucester Old Spot in Bristol, scooped the top prize with 'The Big One' in the Best Hot Breakfast group. The dish uses locally sourced smoked back bacon, sausages and black pudding with vine tomatoes, garlic Portobello mushroom, hash browns, spinach, baked beans, eggs and their 'legendary' rosemary and smoked paprika potatoes.
Following his win, Gustavo Galvoa explained that since giving the morning menu at Belushi's a recent overhaul and introducing traditional cooked breakfast at the expense of lighter options, the bar has seen a staggering 70% increase in breakfast sales.
With the exception of the pancake stack, all the breakfasts served at Belushi's include the round version of our Hash Browns. Gustavo comments: "Aviko Hash Browns are a great product - they taste brilliant and don't need to be seasoned at all - and give us great value for money. I love the fact the ones we use are round in shape which fits really well when stacking on the Badass Breakfast Bap and also look interesting on the plate when customers usually expect triangles."
