Growing UK QSR Brands

Posted on 06/05/2022

It is exciting to see restaurant brands such as Mowgli, Flat Iron and Honest Burgers in the Fast Track 100 that ranks Britain’s fastest growing private companies, here we look at 5 fast growing UK businesses in the fast food channel; that are growing on the back of delicious food, strong branding and are opening multiple sites through franchising or sizeable investment.

Fireaway

Launched in South London by Mario Aleppo the pizza brand takes it cues from Subway giving customers the choice of personalising their pizza. Not only that but fresh toppings combined with hand made dough and a wood fired oven with pizzas (ready in a speedy 180 seconds) makes this a strong concept that ticks all the boxes for consumers. UK expansion is rapid and with master franchises already signed internationally Fireaway is on its way to emulate globally recognised brands Pizza Hut and Dominos with its own unique take on Pizza.

Wingstop

A pioneer of wings starting out in Texas in 1994 from a small buffalo style chicken wing restaurant, the chain has expanded globally and has 20 sites and counting in UK; a mixture of delivery only and physical restaurants. Wingstop's menu features classic wings, boneless wings, and tenders, all with the choice of 10 bold, distinctive sauces. A simple concept but done well focusing on putting flavour first.

Chaiiwala

Starting out in Leicester in 2015 serving a taste of India, answering a gap in the market for an authentic taste of Indian Tea. The menu now boasts more than their well loved Chaai, incorporating Indian street food favourites such as Samosas and Chilli Paneer whilst putting an Indian twist on chips with Masala Chips. The brand has used social media well with a street food menu that delivers on strong flavours.
