Supporting Salt Awareness Week With Salt Awareness Week from CASH (Consensus Action on Salt & Health), returning for its 14th year this month (11-17 March, 2013), we want to help raise awareness of the dangers of overconsumption of salt.

Over the last two years, we have actively reduced salt levels by 16 tonnes in our chilled and frozen products - giving caterers peace of mind to serve products that meet - or fall well below - the 2012 salt targets set by the UK Food Standards Agency (FSA). Cutting salt does not mean taste has to be sacrificed for health - our low-salt mash was the first frozen product to win Craft Guild of Chef endorsement while our Herb Diced Potatoes and Garlic & Herb Wedges demonstrate how salt can be replaced with flavoursome herbs and spices such as garlic, parsley and basil.
