Aviko SuperCrunch fries have a crispy coating. Thanks to this special coating, the fries are extra crispy and have a longer holding time than fries without coating. The crispiness of the fries remains good for up to 30 minutes after frying. Because the fries remain crispy for an extra long time, they are ideal for delivery and take-out, and there is less wastage.

Many Aviko products consist of only potatoes and oil. If allergens have been incorporated into a product, these are stated in the ingredient declaration. This can be found with the relevant product on the website, under ‘Allergens’.

The potato is rich in nutrients. It contains no fat and half the kilocalories of rice and pasta. It consists of about 80% water. It also contains minerals, vitamins, and fibre and is a source of starch in the form of complex carbohydrates. The potato contains vitamin B complex and a large amount of vitamin C, which is comparable to the same values of most fruits.

The potato also contains high quantities of potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, and calcium. The potato therefore fits perfectly into a healthy lifestyle. The potato is also a popular product worldwide because of its versatility.

Aviko strives to use as few additives as possible. All ingredients of an Aviko product can be found in the product specifications overview.

The potato originally comes from the Andes, where it has been cultivated for thousands of years. From excavations, we know that the potato existed as far back as 13,000 years ago in parts of South America, including Chile (and also in Peru 8,000 years ago). They were given all kinds of nicknames such as Kuntur Warmi which means ‘like a woman of the colour of the condor’.

Aviko has a variety of customers who have different requirements for their products. For this reason, Aviko processes a wide range of potato varieties, each with its own specific characteristics. An example: German consumers ask for more firm, yellow-fleshed potato products, for which the Agria or Hansa variety is used.

In Europe: Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and France. The aim is to grow the potatoes as close as possible to the processing plants, so that the transport distances from the grower to the factory are as short as possible. This gives us the lowest possible carbon footprint in terms of raw material sourcing.
