Churros are a well-known Spanish delicacy that have gained popularity around the world in recent years. Spaniards eat them for breakfast, with a steaming mug of thick hot chocolate, but also enjoy churros as a snack in the afternoon or late evening. Churros are made with simple choux pastry fried in hot oil and often coated in sugar and cinnamon. We can’t get enough of their soft centres, crisp edges, and sweet coating.

Churros as a finger food or dessert
Are Churros really a Spanish creation though? It is said that Portuguese explorers discovered the cooking technique in China and brought it back to the Mediterranean where it was adopted. In fact, the snack is still eaten in Asia as a breakfast dish called youtiao. One thing is certain however, the Spanish introduced the churro to Latin America, where people quickly fell in love with the sweet snack.
Classic churros or straight Churros
Aviko has two variants in its range, classic Churros and straight Churros. The straight churros resemble elongated donuts, thereby making them easy to fit in a cone. All of our churros are suitable for a lactose-free, vegetarian, and vegan diet.
