Beer Battered Fish and Chips

This British classic dish is ever-popular with customers and crisp battered fish goes perfectly with our SuperCrunch Pure & Rustic Chips.


200g Cod fillet (or similar white fish)

150g Aviko SuperCrunch Pure & Rustic

150g Plain flour (plus 50g extra for dusting)

250ml Cold beer

1 Tsp Baking powder



For Tartare sauce

50g Mayonnaise

1 Tsp Capers (finely chopped)

1 Tsp Gherkins (finely chopped)

1 Tsp Dill (finely chopped)

1 Tsp Parsley (finely chopped)

1/4 Lemon (juice)


To Serve

Sea salt flakes

Lemon wedges



Mix together the flour, baking powder and beer with a tsp of salt to form a batter

Add a pinch of salt to the 50g dredging flour then coat your fish fillet

Shake off any excess flour and then dip the fish in the batter and make sure it is fully coated

Carefully put the fish in a deep fryer and cook for 5 - 7 minutes until golden brown, turning half way

Cook SuperCrunch Pure & Rustic as per packet instructions

To make the tartare sauce mix together all ingredients

Serve fish alongside chips, tartare sauce, lemon wedges and salt
